About Graham Lester

I have worked with paper as a medium for some time whilst running a creative design company and was commissioned to produce paper sculptures for display work and other promotions.

I now focus on using the medium to express my own ideas. I’ve demonstrated paper sculpture in John Lewis and exhibited work in a number of galleries across the region.

Several years ago I acquired a lathe and started woodturning. This led me to explore compressing various recycled materials together, such as magazines, discarded plastic signs, Corian, Perspex and other materials, which I then turn on the lathe.

I now use a variety of materials to produce bowls and pots in different colourways. I was awarded the Fletcher prize from the Oxfordshire Craft Guild in 2013 for my recycled paper bowls.
